Ridge Street Row
In the heart of Washington's Mount Vernon Square neighborhood, Ridge Street Row is an eight-unit luxury rental property, completed in 2008. The two-story punched window, brick façade is in rhythm with the surrounding historic two-story row houses. A recessed sloped glass third story, elegantly brings the outdoors in while complementing the quiet tree lined street.
The design maximizes efficiency through passive solar design. The building's North-South orientation, with operable windows at both ends, enables natural cross ventilation. Maximum daylighting is achieved through use of large expanses of high-performance glass, creating airy and comfortable interiors. Prefabricated concrete construction keeps energy consumption to a minimum. Gated patios at the lower level flats provide a peaceful urban oasis for city dwellers, while private roof terraces for upper units offer magnificent views of the monuments and city.
Ridge Street Row seeks a new standard for urban living by achieving ecological and aesthetic harmony between the structure, its environment, and its historical setting.
